I have been painting seriously for about 10 years. Art has been major part of my life since I was a child. When I was  about 10 I gave myself a summer project to sketch all the US Presidents on an 8x10 sketch pad. I can't back off a goal, but as a result I try to stay away from all old guy portraits to this day.
I think you could call my painting impressionistic realism. I strive to be representational, but I can't follow all the rules. I want to push the shadow colors, pop up the sky colors and create more contrast than I see.
